We arrived in Nepal 6 days ago, jet lag has finally left us! We spent the first 4 days acclimatizing and visiting some of the sites of Kathmandu before our visit to Aapchaur to see the completed school. We arrived during Dashain, the biggest festival time of the year.
After a 2 hour 4×4 adventure we arrived to an incredible welcome at the school. The whole village had turned out to thank us for rebuilding their school. We had brought specially made money boxes for all the children as they get given money at festival time. The whole experience was breathtakingly wonderful for all the ABIN team.
Here are some pictures of our time so far…
Tomorrow morning a group of ABIN team members will set off on the long journey to Nepal. There will be 9 members in total, with 6 visiting for the first time. The trip is entirely self-funded, like all the earlier trips, as we are committed to all the money we raise going directly to those in need.
The trip will mainly be spent visiting Bandhevi Primary School in Aapchaur (which was completed in January, 2018) and going to the Sankhuwasabha District to visit our current construction project, Sharada Secondary School. We look forward to sharing the journey with here you as we go.
