Rob in Nepal – Part 1

Here are a few pics from earlier today. Bani Bilas Secondary School, about 25 mins drive from Tumlingtar Airport. I just woke up from a lovely nap (7:15 pm Tuesday night) here. As you can see, we are at the Hotel Arati….. they put us on the 5th floor !
Tomorrow morning we will be visiting Him SS. To get there it is a 90 min drive and then  a 2 hr hike. I will keep you all apprised of all that we will be doing over the next 4 days.
Best,
Rob

Heading to Nepal

Rob Tournour, founder of Another Brick in Nepal, and his colleague Craig Fulton are heading to Nepal next week. They will be visiting Sharada Secondary School, our current school project, and also visiting a few other schools to try and find a suitable fit for our next project. He is going to be sending updates while in Nepal so check back to the website nofollow his trip!

Sharada School Update

Progress is being made on the second floor of Sharada School. There had been some delays in the past couple of months, but construction is back on track. As you can see in the pictures below the second floor is nearing completion.

We will be able to share with you many more pictures and news of our next school project next month. Rob Tournour, co-founder of ABIN, is travelling to Nepal at the start of May to visit with 4 different possible school projects. He will also be working out which project will be undertaken for our 2020 volunteer build. We will be able to share more details of this, and how you could come to Nepal with us in 2020 to help us build, towards the end of May.

2nd Annual Trail run

Thank you to all of you who came out to support us this Sunday at our 2nd Annual Trail run at East Sooke Park. The turnout was phenomenal, with over 170 runners registered (up by almost 50 from last year). We had a wonderful day with you all and are so excited to share that we raised over $10,000! Thank you to everyone who helped us raise money, and a special shout out to Bill McIntyre who singlehandedly raised over $2,500.

We want to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers and to the Mint Restaurant who once again provided us with the best post-race food available. We also want to thank our other generous sponsors BrockWhite, Island Imagery, Islands West Produce, Level Ground Coffee, Prairie Inn Harriers, Northwest Scaffolding, Titanium Tents, Thrifty Foods, West Coast College of Massage Therapy
